12th Funeral of “Lateef Tiger” Attended by a Sea of People- Militants Offered Gun Salute

After thousands of people attended the funeral of slain Militant commander, Lateef Ahmed Dar alias tiger in Dogripora on Friday, people from far areas in large numbers reached this Pulwama area to attend the funeral prayers of slain on Saturday too.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on the insistence of thousands of people, Lateef was not laid to rest on Friday evening, they wanted Lateef to be buried on Saturday.

They said that people in large numbers have reached the funeral ground where the funeral number 12 as just offered to the last surviving member of Burhan’s iconic group.

Amid intense pro Independence and Anti India slogans, thousands of passionate women and men stayed in Dogripora for the entire night where locals arranged food for hundreds of mourners.

A Local said that people opened the doors of their houses to hundreds of people who had come from far off places to attend the funeral of Lateef in Dogripora Pulwama.

He said that Militants around 8:20 pm, in large groups reached the funeral ground where they fired shots in the air as a mark of respect to their slain commander.

Meanwhile the area is observing a complete shutdown on the second consecutive day amid a complete ban on mobile internet services in the entire South Kashmir region.
