Teenage Girl Gangraped then Murdered in Pakistan Administered Kashmir

March 31 The body of a teenage girl, who disappeared three weeks ago, was found in a stormwater drain in district Poonch early Saturday morning. The initial postmortem report revealed that the 16-year-old girl was gang-raped and then murdered, the police said. The girl, who hails from a surrounding area of Ali Sojal, had disappeared about three weeks ago, her parents said. The family also staged a protest after the body was found and claimed that they registered a complaint when she disappeared but the area police had done nothing in this regard.   

Clashes Erupt in Soura against Arrests

March 31 Clashes erupted in Soura area of Srinagar after police detained a boy on Saturday, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. Sources said that Police resorted to tear gas shelling to quell the agitated people. As per Eyewitnesses, the students of a local school hit streets after a boy from their school was detained. “Students including girls came on roads raising anti government slogans and demanded release of the detained student,” eye witnesses told The Kashmiriyat. Vehicular movement has been disrupted in the area. “Stone pelting too erupted and police used tear gas to disperse them,” locals said. Protests in the area were going on when this report was filed.

2 Electrocuted in North Kashmir while Travelling on Bus Rooftop

March 31 Two persons were electrocuted in  Budgam district in Central Kashmir on Saturday while they were travelling on a bus roof. "The two came to contact with an electric wire at Watrehail in Budgam ," Sources told The Kashmiriyat. Policeman Shot in Islamabad

March 31 A Cop of Jammu Kashmir police has been shot at in South Kashmir's Islamabad District on Saturday, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. Unidentified Gunmen Shot the Policeman near Khanabal Point area of the District early morning on Saturday. The Cop has been identified as Trilok Singh aged 33, a resident of Tral posted as SPO at Police Station Islamabad, hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat. They also said that Trilok has received a Bullet injury on his chest. The Cop is being treated at District Hospital Janglat Mandi, Officials told The Kashmiriyat, Details emerging.

Road Accident in Khanabal, One Dead

March 30 One person namely Farooq Ahmad of Bijbehara was killed in a road accident in Islamabad on Friday. Local sources told The Kashmiriyat that Farooq was riding a scooty in Khanabal area of South Kashmir's Islamabad when he was hit by a Truck. The 20 Year old, Farooq Ahmed was injured initially after which he was shifted to the nearby hospital, Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat.
