Encounter starts in Kulgam area

An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in Chadura Motalhama of Quimoh area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District.

Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation.

The Encounter started when Militants fired on a patrolling party of Government forces.

Earlier Forces had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

2-3 Militants are believed to be trapped in the area, Local sources told The Kashmiriyat.

Internet services have also been suspended in Kulgam District.
