Two Militants Killed in Sopore Gunfight

Two Militants have been killed during a gunfight at Teleyan in Sopore area of  North Kashmir’s Baramulla District on Thursday.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the 22 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 179 BN CRPF had laid down the Search operation jointly.

The Militants present in the area opened fire upon the troopers conducting a search operation in the area, triggering a gunfight.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that no gunfire was being heard at the movement as Forces were conducting search operations in the area.

Drones were also pushed into service after a lull was observed for nearly half an hour to trace the holed up Militants after which gunfire resumed.

An Official confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that two Militants have been killed in the gunfight, “but the dead bodies have not been recovered yet, the search operation is on.”

The Authorities have suspended Mobile internet in the area and educational institutes have also been closed for a day. (The Kashmiriyat)
