October 31 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Lasendow area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. On late noon on Wednesday, the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Shopian area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. A search operation was going on when this report was being filed.

Thousands Attend Funeral of Tral Militant, Militants Offer Gun Salute

October 31 Thousands of people on Wednesday reached Tral to participate in the funeral prayers of a local Jaish e Muhammad militant who was killed in an encounter in Tral area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that thousands of people defying the morning cold thronged the native of Showkat Ahmad Khan in Handoora Tral to attend the funeral of the slain Militant. October 31 The Jammu Kashmir Police said that two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists killed in the Pulwama district encounter.
