After more than a decade of Snowfall in early November, the administration has yet again proven that nothing major has been acheived over the years. The snowfall was followed by Traffic jams choked the length and breadth of Kashmir with major towns and Srinagar city converted into a traffic hell and commuters suffering a lot of pain in reaching from one destination to another .
The electricity disappeared from many areas for long duration within no time after snowfall of a few centimeters thus putting the households to lot of difficulties and sufferings
In many areas of South Kashmir which received snowfall from 7 to 3 inches the residents complained that snow has not been cleared and electricity situation has also worsened, Locals from South Kashmir told The Kashmiriyat.
Adil Manzoor, a student told The Kashmiriyat, “Just a few inches of snow throws life out of gear which is a system failure due to lack of accountability at the both bottom and top management level of the administration.”
Locals expressed anguish over the non availability of electricity Since morning in most of the areas of the Kashmir valley adding that the administration has been buried under a few inches of snow.
When an official of the PDD was contacted by The Kashmiriyat he said that the electricity will be restored tonight and the power cuts are mostly a result of trees falling on Electric wires.
