Crisis in Shopian Areas as Water, Electricity and Fuel Crisis Grow

The Residents of Shopian Areas in south Kashmir’s Shopian district are facing with water shortage as the water pump sheds in the area have been non-functional from past many days, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.

Residents of more than ten villages including Reshipora, Wachi, Bapora, Harmain, Zainapor and Manihal speaking to The Kashmiriyat complained of acute water problem other than shortage of fuel and electricity.

Since snowfall, the administration has failed to restore essential services in the Zainapore belt of Shopian District, a resident, Shabir Ahmed said while speaking to The Kashmiriyat.

An Official of PHE upon being contacted said that many schemes were disrupted at various places due to the breakdown of electricity, adding that the department is looking forward to restore the essential services as soon as possible.
