Fuel Finally Reaches Kashmir in ‘Sufficient Quantities’

February 27 Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Shahid Choudhary Wednesday said the fuel stocks has reached Srinagar in sufficient quantities. In a tweet, DC srinagar said the distribution will be done by evening, saying there will be regular supply hereafter. “Finally, fuel stocks in sufficient quantities reached. #Kashmir. Distribution by evening. Strongly caution against hoarding. We will have regular supply hereafter. Pl dont worry,” DC tweeted.

Budgam Plane Crash- Death Toll Rises to 5

February 27 From the Budgam Mi-17 crash site, two more bodies have been recovered Garend Kalan in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday, taking the death toll to five. A civilian Kifayat Ahmad Ganaie (30) son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie and two IAF pilots were earlier killed due to the crash. Further details are awaited.

Wing Commander of Indian Air Force Arrested by Army, Claims Pakistan

February 27 The Pakistan Army on Wednesday has claimed that they have arrested a wing commander of Indian Air Force who tried to sneak into the Pakistani side through Line of control which divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan. Speaking to Media, the wing commander identified himself as Abhimanyu of Indian Air Force. "he has been admitted to the hospital and one has been taken into detention," the Pakistani Army claimed. February 27 Pakistani jets on Tuesday violated the Line of Control this morning, sources said, prompting Indian Air Force fighters to launch counter operations. Multiple sources confirmed that Pakistani fighter jets crossed over the Line of Control (LoC) and entered the Nowshera sector in Jammu Kashmir's Rajouri district. The Pakistani jets were forced to return after Indian Air Force jets launched counter operations, officials said. Initial reports suggested that the Pakistani fighter jets were F-16s. Indian Fighter jet Crashes in Kashmir’s Budgam, Pilot and Co Pilot Reportedly Killed

February 27 People from Budgam, Kashmir, said that a fighter jet of Indian Air Force crashed at Garend Kalan village, 7 Km distant from Budgam. Though Police officials said that their initial inputs suggest that it a helicopter. However eyewitnesses contested the version and said it was a fighter plane and had been doing rounds of the area since early morning. They said that the Pilot and co pilot of the plane have also died in the crash. Official confirmation regarding the deaths is awaited.

February 27 The National Investigation Agency of India on Wednesday raided the house of active Jaish-e-Muhammad militants in southern Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the sleuths of NIA in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday forces raided the house of Sajad Ahmed in Sangam's Marhama area who is believed to have provided vehicle for the deadly Pulwama attack. Sajad, however, went missing after the Pulwama attack and has joined Jaish e Muhammad. February 27 Pakistan on Tuesday alleged that Indian troops late evening resorted to indiscriminate shelling from across the dividing line, leaving at least four civilians dead and 11 others wounded in Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK). The machinegun, mortar and artillery shelling began at about 5:30pm simultaneously in Kotli, Bhimber and Poonch districts and was “intense and indiscriminate”, with civilians being ruthlessly targeted by Indian forces without any provocation, Dawn quoting officials reported.
