220 Militants Killed in 2018, 44 in Shopian

The Shopian District of South Kashmir has witnessed the killing of at least 44 Militants in the current year, 2018 with the killing of six Militants on Sunday in an encounter at Batagund area.

Figures available to The Kashmiriyat suggest that out of the 44 Militants killed in 2018, 42 were locals which includes top commanders like Saddam Padder, Tawseef Ahmed Sheikh, Umar Ganie, Hammad Lashkari.

A total of 220 Militants has been killed in the current year which includes foreign Militants as well including the top Lashkar commander, Abu Maaz who was killed in an encounter in North Kashmir on October 26.

Top Most commanders including Altaf Ahmed Kaczroo, Showkat Ahmed Tak, Azad Malik, Mehraj Bangroo, Sameer Tiger were also killed in separate encounters in 2018.

On April 01, a total of 12 Militants were shot dead when encounter raged in Dragad and Kachdoora areas of Shopian, the slain Militants were mainly new recruits.

On May 06, an encounter raged in Badigam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian death resulting in the death of Saddam Padder including a Kashmir University professor and his three associates.
