83 Percent of Militants Were Stone Pelters- Army, Police Address Joint Presser in Srinagar

The chief of Jammu Kashmir Police, Dilbagh Singh and Lieutenant General of Indian Army, KJS Dhillon addressed a joint press conference in Srinagar on Friday.

Lt Gen KJS Dhillon GOC Chinar Corps said that 83% of today’s militants have been stone pelters in past.

“My appeal to mothers, if u see your son pelting stones at security forces, chances are he will join path of militancy. The militant will be eliminated in 1 year of picking up weapons, so save him from joining Militancy,” he said.

He also claimed that An M-24 American sniper rifle with a telescope was recovered from a terror cache along Shri Amarnath ji route.

Dilbag Singh, DG JK Police said that Leaders of many militant groups have been eliminated nullifying their activities.

“Large number of OGWs have been picked up, JKLF and Jamaat e Islami leaders & activists have been booked,” Singh told the media.

He said that three days of searches have resulted in many explosives being found.

He said that Terror funding modules targeted.

Dilbag Singh claimed that the overall number of active militants in the Valley and in the Jammu region has come down.

Speaking on the troop increase he said that considering the threat perception we need more number of troops in the valley.
