A Sea of People Reaches Islamabad (anantnag) to Attend the Funeral of Physiotherapy Student Turned Militant

People from nooks and corners despite strict restrictions imposed in the Islamabad (anantnag) township have flooded the SK Colony area of this South Kashmir township to offer the funeral prayers of the sain Physiotherapy student turned Militant, Burhan u Din Ganie.

From Shopian, Kulgam and Budgam too, people have gathered here in large numbers amid intense pro Independence and Anti India sloganeering in the ground where Burhans body lay. At around 9 am, the body of Burhan reached his home where his mother and father, Mohammed Sadiq Ganie burst into tears.

Burhan who had joined Militant outfit Hizb ul Mujahideen in June 2018, was killed in an encounter at Bangandar locality of Bijbehara town in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) District.

The encounter was jointly conducted by troopers from Indian Army’s 3 RR, Jammu Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force on wee hours of Thursday morning.

Burhan had completed his degree in Physiotherapy in May 2018 and he was planning to start internship at SKIMS by July, he went missing on June 23 and a day after his photo appeared on the social media, with an AK 47 in his hand.

Meanwhile restrictions have been imposed in Islamabad (anantnag) township amid a complete ban on Mobile Internet in the entire district.
