Aerial Firing by Army to Disperse Protesters in Kulgam

Amid Cordon and Search Operation operation, the army has resorted to aerial firing as intense clashes erupted between Government Forces and Protesters in Redwani Bala area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam District,

Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth amid high pitch pro independence sloganeering hit the streets of Redwani as soon as Forces including 1 RR of Indian Army reached the village following specific inputs about Militant movement.

 

As soon as the forces launched the search operation, protesters hurled stones on the forces, who retaliated with immense tear smoke shelling upon protesters.

“The army fired dozens of aerial shots to disperse the protesters,” a local told The Kashmiriyat.

A Senior official of Jammu Kashmir Police posted in Kulgam District of South Kashmir, however denied that reports of aerial firing.
