A B. Pharma Student, Mudasir Ahmed Itoo son of Ghulam Qadir Itoo who was pursuing B.Phama from a college in Delhi was picked up by Government forces during an nocturnal raid on 8 November.

The 18 year old who had come home during  his holidays from the Delhi college was arrested when Government forces raided his house in the Qaimoh locality of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The family members while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that the family has been disallowed from meeting Mudasir who is detained at Amnoo camp of Kulgam

“The forces prior to arresting Mudasir also assaulted me and vandalized the property worth tens of thousands of rupees in the dark of the night,” his father Ghulam Qadir told The Kashmiriyat.

They also abused the inmates including my wife and five daughters.

Mudasir is the lone brother to five sisters among whom two are married, but they too have returned to their father’s house after their husbands were booked under the draconian Public Safety Act.

Pertinently, Khursheed Ahmad who is survived by three children was booked under PSA for his alleged role in the Udhampur Attack in August 2015.

Another brother in law of Musdasir Itoo named Mubarak Ahmad Wani alias Major Saqib was also booked under PSA earlier in 2018 and has been lodged at Kathua Jail in Jammu.

“Mudasir was a lonely hope to the poor family and his sisters looked forward to him, we sold our household items to send him to Delhi for further studies after his class 12th, but the forces snatched him away from us,” A weeping father said.

Hundreds of youth have been arrested in South Kashmir in the past month during nocturnal raids in nooks and crannies of South Kashmir.
