The Jammu Kashmir Police on Sunday said it arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession. As per an official, on Sunday afternoon a team of Police station Anantnag headed by Station House Officer Mr. Rashid Khan during naka checking apprehended Rouf Ahmad Lachoo, a Resident of Shirpora Anantnag who was found with possession of 100 grams of heroin (narcotic drug). After the latter was arrested, the Jammu Kashmir Police has registered under relevant sections of law. Police Recovers Banned Animal Skin in Shirpora Anantnag

The Jammu Kashmir Police along with wildlife officials in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) township on Saturday morning raided a house in the Sherpora area of the township and recovered banned skins of animals. An official told The Kashmiriyat that animal skins of Lions, Leopards, and Bear were recovered from an individual (name undisclosed) who was also taken under detention. Providing details of the incident, the official said that the Anantnag Police headed by SHO Saddar Anantnag raided a house in Shirpora area in the wee hours of Saturday and recovered banned animal skins from a house and took the owner of the house under detention. The Police have registered a case in this regard and started further investigation into the incident.

Suhail Dar Two more persons have died of a heart attack in the Kashmir valley taking the toll to 25 in the past fifteen days. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a young teacher from the Batengoo area in South Kashmir's Anantnag District who was a Government Teacher by profession fell unconscious at his home on Saturday afternoon. Identified as Nayaz Ahmad Pinchoo Son of Ghulam Ahmad Pinchoo, he was rushed to the Government District hospital of Anantnag where the Doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival. "He had faced a cardiac arrest," a doctor said. Another young woman from South Kashmir died of a cardiac arrest on Saturday afternoon. Pertinently In the last 15 days, the total number of deaths reported due to cardiac arrest in the Valley has reached 25.

Waris Shah People from Arabal area of Dooru in south Kashmir's Anantnag staged a protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to provide them drinking water. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday morning, Scores of Men from Arabal Dooru assembled on the main road in Dooru and blocked it for several hours. They said that the residents face problems due to an immense shortage of drinking water.
