Prisoner Dies in District Jail in Anantnag

Danishwar Hameed A prisoner died under mysterious circumstances at District Jail of Anantnag in South Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Shahzad Ahmed Wani, aged around 45, who is a resident of Shalipora area in Kulgam district of South Kashmir died during his lodgement in Mattan Jail in Anantnag. His body has been shifted to District hospital in Anantnag for medico- legal formalities. An official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that Shahzad died of illness as he had been keeping unwell for quite a while. "He had been brought to the hospital several times as his health deteriorated many times during the past few days," the official said. Details rushing in.

The President Municipal Committee Aishmuqam Abdul Wahid on Friday said that stern action will be initiated against those butchers who are found violating Government orders with regard to mutton rates. "As per the recent order issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir regarding the mutton rate @ 480/ kg, All the butchers of Aishmuqam town are hereby instructed to follow the order in letter and spirit otherwise strict action will be taken against the defaulters under law," President Municipal Committee Aishmuqam said in an official communique issued to The Kashmiriyat. He said that the Committee will constitute special squads for ensuring implementation of government orders besides will create a helpline for the common public so that they register their grievances.
