Locals Protest Against Water Scarcity in Achabal Area

Waris Shah People of Adabal Tailwani area of Achabal in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district staged a protest against the alleged failure of (PHE) Public Health Engineering department in providing drinking water to residents. According to Local residents of Adabal Tailwani staged a protest against the PHE department which has failed to solve the drinking water problem of the people. The residents talking to The Kashmiriyat said, “we are facing this problem for years now. In summers the situation gets worse”. Protestors said they have brought the matter to the notice of concerned authorities but nothing has been done to restore water supply in the area. Locals of the area appealed the higher authorities of concerned department for redressal of the grievance

 A senior journalist, Hilal Shah of Dooru Anantnag was bereaved on Tuesday as his ailing father Peer Ghulam Nabi departed from this world in GMC Islamabad (Anantnag) Hospital. Many journalist organizations and working journalists have expressed their sympathies with Hilal Shah. The deceased was serving the Khankah of popular Sufi saint at Khanyar Srinagar, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani locally known as Dastgeer Soub since decades. 30-Year-old Man Hangs Self in Anantnag

Waris Shah A 30-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday by hanging himself to death in South Kashmir's Brakpora area of Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the youth was shifted to Nearly Hospital after committing the act, however, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead. The official said that the youth was a Labour by profession and it was not immediately known as to why he took this extreme step. He said that the proceedings under section 174 CrPc have been initiated and further investigation has been taken up in this regard.

Sheikh Nadeem A man died on Sunday in Kandiwara Kokernag area in South Kashmirs Anantnag District when he was lopping a tree near his home. Locals told The Kashmiriyat  that a man lopping a tree died when the axe accidentally fell on his chest resulting in his on the spot death. A Police official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat verifying the incident identified the man Manzoor Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Sattar shah. One Dead in Road Accident at Kokernag

Waris Shah One person has died, while second critically injured in a road accident in the Kandiwara area of Kokernag in South Kashmir's Islamaad (anantnag) district on Saturday morning. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Rouf Ahmed Bhat son of Adul Razaq has died when the tractor he was driving skidded off the road in Kandiwara area early on Saturday morning. He died on the spot, while the person accompanying him has been critically injured  in the accident, he is undergoing treatment at the nearby hospital. The Jammu Kashmir Police has taken a cognizance of the matter and an investigation launched into the accident, a Police official told The Kashmiriyat.

Waris Shah An on-duty Policeman of Jammu Kashmir Police died of a cardiac in Verinag area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Thursday afternoon. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a SGCT with Jammu Kashmir Police identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Parray son of Ghulam Qadir Parray, a resident of Ougjan area in Dialgam died while he was on duty.
