Sports Competitions Held in Islamabad (anantnag) Town

March 26 The District Administration in Islamabad (anantnag) inaugurated the Ceremony of District level inter block competitions under sports for peace and development (CSS) which was organised by department of youth service and Sports. Students from various schools of Islamabad (anantnag) district participated in the event which was aimed at promoting the talent among young students. Speaking to the students Khalid Jahangeer, he said, "There is a need for the District administration, the schools to work for the all round developments of students." CASO Launched in Arwani, Intense Clashes Erupt

ISLAMABAD
March 25 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Mir Mohalla area of Arwani in South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) district. On Monday morning, the forces including RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Arwani area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. Youth in large numbers hit the streets as soon as the search operation started. The forces fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesting youth. However, the clashes were going on. A search operation was going on when this report was being filed.

OGW Escapes from Police Custody at Srinagar Court

ISLAMABAD
March 19 An Over Ground Worker (OGW) of militants fled from Srinagar court on Tuesday afternoon. The OGW was brought from sub jail Mattan to Srinagar court for judicial remand where he managed to escape. Identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Rah of Qaimoh Kulgam, sources said, he escaped from court permises here in Srinagar. A police officer confirmed the incident and said that a manhunt has been launched to nab the fleeing OGW.

Train Crushes 60 year old Man to Death in Qazigund

March 19 Sheikh Nadeem A Man was crushed to death by a train near a railway track on Tuesday morning in Qazigund area of South Kashmir. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that 60-year-old man identified as Ghulam Nabi Bhat, was mowed to death by a train on Tuesday in Qazigund area of south Kashmir. The deceased was a resident of Churat area in Qazigund. A Police official confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that they have registered a investigation in the case.

Road Accident in Pahalgam

March 19 Murtaza Gull One person was injured when a Sumo passenger vehicle turned turtle near the Batkote area of Pahalgam in South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a vehicle bearing the registration number JK03D 7712 plying on the Khanabal- Pahalgam road turned turtle causing injuries to one passenger. Policeman Accidentally Shoots Himself in Islamabad (anantnag)

March 17 A Policeman was injured when he accidentally opened fire from his own service rifle in Dak Bungalow area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a Policeman identified as Jahangeer Ahmed who is posted as a guard of a National conference leader accidentally opened fire, injuring himself. 60 year old Man shot at in Islamabad (anantnag), Injured

March 14 A sixty year old man was injured after he was shot at by unidentified Gunmen  at Thajiwara area of Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday evening, unknown gunmen shot Mohammed Ismail aged 60, at Thajeewara Bijbehara. Ismail was immediately rushed to Bijbehara hospital for treatment from where he has been referred to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for specialized treatment. Mohammed Ismail, as per media reports, is affiliated with National Conference.
