March 03 A 17- year old boy, Ikhlas Ahmed Bhat, resident of Adar area of Khanabal area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) has alleged torture by Indian Army on the wee hours of Sunday morning. Ikhlas speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that early morning he left home for Fajr prayers, when Army men face palmed (Covered my mouth with Hands) him and assaulted him for nearly an hour and also cut his body parts with sharp knives. March 03 Massive clashes have erupted in Mir Bazar area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) district on Sunday morning after a verbal brawl between a Local and Army men. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning Army men thrashed a youth in the Malpora area of Mir Bazar without any provocation which resulted in a verbal brawl between the Army men and Locals. However, more Army men rushed to the spot and started thrashing the locals, and also scattered the goods of nearby shopkeepers. February 28 Intense clashes erupted between Locals and Indian Army in Seer Hamdan area of South Kashmir's islamabad (Anantnag) district on Thursday morning after Army allegedly thrashed two bikers in the area. As soon as the Army thrashed the civilians, the locals gathered near the spot resulting in verbal brawl between the Army and locals. The brawl soon took an ugly turn as Army tried to thrash more locals, they said. They said that the locals chased away the Army with stones and also threw fire pots (Kangri) upon the army men. However, the Police soon reached the spot and pacified the locals.

February 23 Khalid Jahangir today assumed the charge as Deputy Commissioner, of Islamabad (anantnag) in South Kashmir from Mohammad Younis Malik, outgoing  Deputy Commissioner at DC Office, here. Mr. Khalid Deputy Commissioner, after assuming the charge met the prominent media persons of the district and sought cooperation from them and the general public for the overall development of the district. The newly joined Deputy Commissioner also interacted with senior officers of the district administration including Additional Deputy Commissioner, ACR, Joint Director Planning, Deputy District Election Officer, & other senior officers. 45 Year Old Man Injured During Clashes in Islamabad (anantnag)

February 23 A 45 year old man was injured after being hit with a stone in Lal Chowk area of Islamabad (anantnag) in South Kashmir on Saturday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Farooq Ahmad Bhat Son of Abdul Razaq Bhat, a Resident of Lalan Ganoor was hit by a stone on head in clashes which erupted on Saturday morning. February 13 The family of a 55 year old man from Kund area in South Kashmir's Qazigund has alleged that the non availability of doctors at District hospital in Islamabad (Anantnag) has led to the death of their family member.
