Another Encounter Breaks Out in Anantnag

Waris Shah An encounter has raged in the Semthan area of Bibehara area South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that 3 RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Semthan area of Anantnag's Bijbehara area. During the cordon, the hiding militants opened fire upon forces triggering an encounter. Two to three Militants are believed to be trapped at the site of the encounter. Meanwhile, another encounter is going in the Hatipora area of Kulgam where joint forces including 3 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF are conducting the Anti- Militancy operation.

Sheikh Nadeem The house of a woman allegedly found hanging inside her house in Anantnag's Moominabad was burnt down by unknown persons on  Saturday morning. A Police official confirming the development to The Kashmiriyat said that unknown persons have set fire to the house of a woman who was allegedly found hanging inside the house of her in-laws in the Anantnag outskirts. He said that Police along with fire tenders have rushed to the spot and are trying to douse off the flames. Waris Shah/ Sheikh Nadeem A 45-year-old woman was allegedly found hanging inside her house in the Mominabad area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a 45-year- old lady allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself inside her home in the Mominabad area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday morning. The Lady (name withheld) allegedly hanged herself at her home during the night of Friday, he added/ The family of the deceased had spotted her hanging and rushed her to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. Meanwhile, police have registered a case and taken up further investigations in this regard, the official added.

Suhail Dar Seven MBBS students of Government Medical college in Janglat Mandi Anantnag town in South Kashmir were tested Covid-19 positive during a sampling drive on Friday. Dr. Showkat, the principal of the college confirming the development to The Kashmirityat said that seven students whose samples were taken today tested positive for COVID-19. The students have been advised to follow covid protocols properly and self isolate themselves, he said. "We will also ensure that their relatives and contact history is traced and those they came in touch with, will also be tested for covid 19," he added. However, the college will function normally.

Suhail Dar Officials in Anantnag sealed a brick kiln in the Shamsipora area of Mattan in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir on Saturday. Additional Director Food, Wali Mohammed speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that under the directions of the Deputy commissioner in Anantnag several brick kilns were raided in the South Kashmir district. He said that a brick kiln named DBF in Shamsipora was sealed as the kiln was found to be operating illegally without a bill book.
