Waris Shah A youth was killed in a road accident at South Kashmir's Bata Tachloo Khudwani area of Kulgam district. On Thursday evening, the youth died on the spot after a speedy truck hit a him. According to the details available to The Kahmiriyat, the deceased was identified as Maqsood Ahmad Bhat. Maqsood Bhat is a resident of Wanpor in Khudwani area of Kulgam district. He is the son of Gh Qadir Bhat. The Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.

Protests Erupt in Kulgam After Woman Gets Hit by Government Force’s Vehicle and Dies

Waris Shah A middle-aged woman, namely Mogal Banoo w/o Mohammad Ameen Dar and resident of Redwani, Kulgam was mowed down by a police bus in Quimoh area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. Locals speaking to the The Kashmiriyat identified the woman said that the accident occured in the Kawaki Bazaar in Quimoh. "The woman was shifted to the hospital but died on the way" said sources. The BMO Qaimoh, Dr. Abdul Gani speaking to The Kashmiriyat also said that the deceased woman was declared dead on arrival. Protests have erupted on the streets after the news of the death was released and the shops have downed all shutters. People have taken to the street and also called for a complete shutdown of shops and facilities, as protest against the death.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the family of Umis Ahmad wani of Chawalgam - Kulgam said that they have released statements and videos where they have appealed for him to return back home. His father, Nisar Ahmad Wani said that Umis had gone missing on the 26th of August, 2020. We are 1400 families in which only 328 are living inside quarters and other families are still living in rented rooms, we demand the administration to provide us with proper accommodation”. BJP Sarpanch Shot Dead by Militants in Qazigund, Kulgam

Suspected Militants shoot dead BJP sarpanch, Sajad Ahmad Khanday. The sarpanch was shot by suspected militants outside his residence at Vessu village of Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Sajad was rushed to the hospital, GMC Anantnag but the medical Superintendent, Mohammad Iqbal Sofi declared him brought dead. Pertinently, the attacks on Panchs and Sarpanchs have increased in the valley. This is the second attack in two days, earlier Arif Ahmad, a Panch of Qazigund was critically injured in one such attack.

A Sarpanch was shot by suspected militants on  Tuesday evening in Kulgam District. According to the sources, Asif Ahmad from Akhran, Mir Bazar, Kulgam was shot at by suspected militants. The injured Sarpanch was taken to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. It’s important to mention here that the sarpanchs have become an easy target for such attacks. Recently, a pandit Sarpanch, Ajay Pandita also lost his life in an attack.

The final match of Kulgam Premier League 2020 is being played at Kulgam mini ground, the tournament was organised by 9 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army in collaboration with Youth services and sports. Despite the undeclared restrictions on civilian movement by the J&K administration, there was a huge presence of the audience in the ground. Though the streets were empty and shops were shut, people gathered in the sports ground to support their respective teams.
