Danishwar Hameed Unknown burglars broke into a storage shed and stole nearly 250 boxes of Apples in Amnoo area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, locals said that unknown burglars broke into the shed and stole nearly 250 apple boxes packed in the store room. "During the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, thieved decamped with 250 boxes of apple from the house of Mohammad Iqbal Shah, a local resident," they said. Iqbal said that he will register a complaint at the nearest Police station.

Suhail Dar/ Danishwar Hameed A 40-year-old pedestrian was killed after he was hit by an unknown vehicle in Qaimoh area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a vehicle hit one pedestrian identified as Ajaz Ahmad Malla (50) of Turak Tachloo on Srinagar-Jammu national highway near his native village. He said that he died on the spot and the body was later brought to Qaimoh hospital. Family member of Ajaz said that he is survived by five daughters, two sons and was the sole bread owner of the family. We appeal the Kulgam police to arrest the culprit as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Police have taken cognizance of the incident and started the investigation into the incident.

During the meeting, the traffic plan was discussed to facilitate smooth transportation and to avoid traffic jams. The ADC stressed to enforce traffic diversion plans especially during the peak fruit season. He stressed the officers to sensitize officials at checking points for better regulation and management of traffic to ensure smooth passage of fruit trucks. Danishwar Hameed Body of a teenage girl was recovered from nallah Vishow in Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday, officials said. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the body of the girl identified as Ruby Jan (14), daughter of Ghulam Hassan of Tangmarg was spotted in Nallah Vishow near her native village by locals. He said that the locals informed the police, following which a team reached the spot. The official added that the body has been shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.

A civilian and an Army man were injured in an encounter at Redwani area of Kulgam district on Friday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint of team of Army, police and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area. He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. He said that during the exchange of fire, one civilian and an Army man were injured, who have rushed to the hospital for treatment. An Army trooper has been injured in an ongoing gunfight in Redwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday. A top police officer told GNS that a army personnel was injured in an ongoing anti-militancy operation in Redwani. He was immediately evacuated to nearby hospital, where his condition is said to be stable, the officer added.
