Challan Produced in Court Against Awantipora Man for ‘Cheating’ US Woman

The Crime Branch Kashmir produced a challan before the court of City Judge Srinagar against Awantipora resident for allegedly grabbing a huge amount of money from a lady who hails from USA. According to a statement, officials said that CB Kashmir produced a challan in a case under FIR number 15/2012 under section 420 RPC before the Court of City Judge Srinagar. “The case pertains to the complaint of one Simon Kour Nanda of New Jersey, USA mentioning therein that the accused Pardeep Singh Bali, son of Jagdesh Singh of Uller Rajpora Awantipora cheated her on the pretext of constructing a hut for her,” the statement. As per the complaint, the statement added that the hut was not handed over to her and the accused Pardeep Singh Bali grabbed a huge amount of money from her. KNO

Skinder Gull A civillian who was injured in cross firing during initial stage of the operation at Meej Pampore on Thursday evening has succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning. An official said that he was shifted to SDH with critical head injury , from where he was referred to SMHS Srinagar where he was kept on ventilator. He said that he succumbed on Friday morning at around 8 am. He has been identified as Abid Nabi from Pampore while as Kifayat Ahmad who is undergoing treatment at Bone and Joint hospital Srinagar is stable. Skinder Gull An encounter broke out between militants and Government forces in the Meej area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday evening. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of 50 RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation on tip off about the movement of militants in this Pampore area. He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. The exchange of gunfire is still going on, as per the latest reports.

7-Year-Old Boy Drowns to Death in Pulwama

Mohammed Mufeez A seven-year-old boy drowned to death on Tuesday afternoon in Chewa Ullar area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. An official speaking to The Kashmiriyat identified the deceased as Numaan Irshad, son of Irshad Ahmad age 7, a resident of Chewa Ullar village, who "accidentally fell into a local water pond" He said that soon after the incident took place, the family and neighbors of the boy conducted rescue operation and removed him from the pond after which he was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tral, for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead. A doctor posted in Sub district hospital Tral in Pulwama also confirmed the death of the minor boy to The Kashmiriyat. Police has started further investigation in this incident.

Skinder Gull Ex Militant Tanveer Ahmad Sofi of Kakpora Pulwama who was injured in Militant attack on 15 Oct, Succumbed in SMHS hospital Srinagar on this morning. Unknown gunmen on October 15 evening had shot at a former militant in Kakapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. An official had said that an ex-militant identified as Tanveer Ahmad Sofi (30), son of Ghulam Muhammad Sofi of Sofi Mohalla Kakapora was shot at near J&K Bank Kakapora. He added that Tanveer received bullet injuries and was shifted to SMHS in Srinagar for treatment where his condition is said to be critical. He added that he was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and later surrendered. He was later engaged in Sericulture department, officials said.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Musaib Ahmed Bhat son of Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Khrew Area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama has been missing from his home. Musaib, a Laboratory assistant at Government Higher Secondary at Ladhoo area in Pulwama, as per his family members, had left home on Saturday morning. The family has sought the help of people in locating the missing youth.
