4 ‘active associates’ of JeM arrested in Pulwama: Police

Jammu Kashmir Police Sunday said to have arrested four ‘active associates’ affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. “During the investigation of a case FIR number 50 and 51 of 2022 of P/S Pulwama, it was established that 04 youth were actively associated with the JeM outfit providing logistic, transportation and other facilities for commission of militant acts”, reads a police statement issued to GNS. The Jammu Kashmir on Thursday said that the Militants are trapped inside a mosque in the Naina area of Pulwama's Litter belt where an encounter is going on between militants and Government forces. One militant has been killed in the encounter so far, official said, adding, "the militant remains to be identified." "Two #terrorists were holed up in a structure separate from the mosque. We have taken every precaution to ensure that no damage happens to the mosque. One terrorist has been neutralised. #Operation in progress: IGP Kashmir," the Jammu Kashmir Police tweeted. Pulwama Encounter- Train services suspended from Budgam to Banihal in Kashmir

In view of the ongoing encounter in Naina, Pulwama, Authorities on Thursday suspended train service between Banihal to Budgam on Thurday. Official sources said that the gunfight is close to Panzgam station and the services would resume once the gunfight was over. The train route also passes through Naina, Batpora in Pulwama. Meanwhile, Police have said that one unidentified militant has been killed in the encounter. Earlier internet services were suspended in the Litter belt of Pulwama and Zainapora belt of Shopian.

A woman was injured after a shed collapsed due to heavy snowfall in Achan village of Litter Tehsil in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Locals told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a lady namely Arifa Banoo (45) wife of Mohammad Shafi Dar was cooking in a shed when it collapsed resulting in injuries to the said lady. They said due to accumulation of snow on the road, they were unable to take her to hospital following which a JCB was called in to take her to the hospital. Locals have requested administration to clear main roads at an earliest so that people won't face any problems. An unidentified person was killed on the spot while a Government Railway Police personnel was injured after hit by train near Kakapora Pulwama station in the south Kashmir on Wednesday. Official sources told GNS incident took place at around 1625 hours. While the injured was removed to hospital, official sources told GNS that the efforts are underway to identify him. A police officer told GNS actually GRP man, Shabir Ahmad (SPO) posted at Kakapora, tried to save the life of the unidentified person who apparently “committed suicide”.
