NIA Raids Residential House Of Private Teacher In Pulwama

A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday raided a residential house of a private teacher in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, official sources said. They said that the residential house of a private teacher identified as Farooq Ahmad Wani son of Mum Wani, a resident of Gusoo Pulwama was searched by a team of the probing agency. Official sources confirmed to Srinagar based news agency KDC that searches were carried out in connection with a case already registered at the police station of NIA and some documents were seized during the raid. The house owner was picked up by the NIA for further questioning” they said, adding that further details will be shared later. (KDC)

23-year-old Owais Yaqoob who is from the Pulwama district bagged a gold medal in the 6th national Bangalore open MMA championship 2021 played at Forum Mall in Bangalore, Karnataka. Owais won the gold medal in the under 75 Kg weight category. In the competition, a total of 175 top fighters from various parts of India participated. In the quarterfinal, he won by Technical Knockout (TKO) against an opponent from Telangana. In the semis, he defeated his opponent from Haryana and in the final Owais won by walkover as his opponent from Maharashtra withdrew from the fight. He achieved this feat last week.   Sahil Gulzar   An encounter broke out between security forces and militants at Talwani Mohalla in Waggad area of Tral hamlet in South Kashmir's Pulwama district, officials said on Wednesday.   An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint of team of Police, Army's 42 RR and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area.   He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.   He said that the exchange of fire is on in the area and two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
