Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Ghulam Hassan, a resident of Batmaran area in Shopian said that the road from Batmaran- Wanpora Shopian has been in a pathetic state only due to official apathy. The important link road here connects twenty villages with Shopian and also connects the district to Pulwama and Budgam Districts. One more militant was killed in the ongoing gunfight that broke out on Friday in Bandpawa area of Chitragam Tehsil in south Kashmir's Shopian district. Sources said that one more militant was killed in the gunfight, With this killing, the death toll of the militants in the encounter has reached three A team of Police, Army’s 44 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. An Encounter broke out between government forces and militants at Bandpawa area in Imam Sahib area of Shopian  district on Thursday afternoon. A Security official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 44 RR, CRPF and Shopian Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area. An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. Sources said that two militants are believed to be trapped. An encounter is also going on in the Pulwama district where cellular networks have been snapped.
