Four Youth Arrested During Nocturnal Raids in Shopain

November 17 Government forces have detained three youth during nocturnal raids in Sever Memander area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the forces raided several houses late last night in Memander Shopian and detained three youth from the area while one youth was detained from Heff area of this South Kashmir district. The arrested youth were identified as Sajad Thokar, Rayees Ahmed Zargar and Shabbir Ahmed, all residents of Memander area in South Kashmir's Shopian District. Meanwhile one more youth was picked up during a cordon and search operation in the Heff area of Shopian. (The Kashmiriyat).

Nocturnal CASO Launched in Shopian Area

The Government on Thursday launched a cordon and search operation in Aglar area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday, the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Shopian locality and are conducting a search operation in the areas. Shopian to Shut Down on November 20 Against Shortage of Basic Facilities

November 14 TMBS(Traders and manufacturers Body) of shopian has called for shopian Bandh on 20 November against authorities not to provide basic facilities during the 'harsh winter'. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the members of the body said that the Government has failed to provide basic amenities of people of Shopian during the harsh winter. Man Injured in Bear Attack in Shopian

November 12 A man was wounded in a bear attack while he was working in his apple orchard in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Ghulam Rasool Ganie was working in his apple orchard when a bear entered the orchard from a nearby forest and attacked and wounded him. "He cried  for help from and the villagers rushed to the spot and away the bear, and rushed Ghulam Rasool to a nearby hospital.

November 10 The Residents of Shopian Areas in south Kashmir’s Shopian district are facing with water shortage as the water pump sheds in the area have been non-functional from past many days, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.
