17 Year Old Militant From Tral Arrested 2 Days After his Recruitment

October 17 The Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested newly recruited young militant from Pattan area of North Kashmir's Baramulla District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Faizan Majeed resident of Tral was arrested after militants hurled a grenade at a police naka party in Pattan earlier on Wednesday. Faizan who was a class 11th class student had joined militant ranks last week. Details Emerging.

Spontaneous Clashes Erupt in Pulwama as Locals Demand the Body of Slain Militant

October 17 Amid a spontaneous shutdown, clashes erupted in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town on Wednesday after locals staged a protest demanded the body of slain Militant be returned to his family. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat clashes erupted near police station Pulwama where youth hurled stones on forces who retaliated with teargas shelling to disperse the protesters. Five Militants were killed in Bandipora on September 21 after which Forces claimed that the five were foreigners. Intense Clashes Erupt in Islamic University against Militant Killings in Srinagar

October 17 Intense Clashes have erupted at the Islamic University of science and technology (IUST) in south Kashmir’s Awantipora against the killing of three militants in an encounter in Srinagar. A Student told The Kashmiriyat that dozens of students early morning on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the killing of  three militants  in an encounter in Srinagar’s Fateh Kadal area. He said that students assembled in the university ground Chanting pro independence and Pro Militancy slogans and tried to march near the National Highway, However, the government forces intercepted them and resorted to baton charge and fired tear gas shells to disperse them. Grenade Attack on CRPF in Pulwama

October 15 Unidentified persons hurled a grenade on a camp of CRPF Camp in Neva area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on late night on Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled a grenade inside the camp of 183 Battalion of CRPF,two CRPF men were injured in the attack. Massive Door to Door Search Operation Underway in Pampore Area

October 15 The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in Dar Mohallah locality of Drangbal area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 50 RR of Indian Army, SOG 0f JK Police and CRPF laid down the Anti Militancy Operation jointly. “The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area,” Sources said. A door to door search operation has been launched in the area.

JRL Calls for a Complete Shutdown tomorrow

October 15 The Hurriyat leadership has called for a complete protest shutdown on October 16 2018 Tuesday in areas going to polls in last phase of “sham elections”. “As in the previous three phases people will again demonstrate their total rejection and disregard of this futile exercise by staying away and boycotting it completely,” a statement of JRL said. At least 30 Youth arrested in Pulwama Area

October 15 Government Forces have arrested at least over two dozen people in Pulwama district of South Kashmir’s in last two days. Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that thirty youth were arrested by the Jammu Kashmir police since the past two days. At least 15 youth were taken into detention post the intense clashes that had erupted in the Arihal area of Pulwama after a cordon and search operation was launched in the area. "The forces also conducted nocturnal raids in the area and arrested at least 14 youth and also ransacked property," an Arihal resident told The Kashmiriyat. A police official confirmed the arrests and said that the youth are involved in 'stone pelting.'

Three More youth from South Kashmir Join Militancy

October 15 Amid growing Anti Militancy Operations and encounters, two more youth from South Kashmir district of Shopian have joined the Militant ranks. Three more youth from South Kashmir have taken to guns in the Pulwama District of South Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that A 16 year old youth namely Faizan Majeed and Showkat Bin Yousuf and Nishaz Hussain Lone have joined Militancy. Faizan and Showkat who are from Awantipora, have joined the Militant outfit, Tehreek Ul Mujahideen (TeM). October 11 The Family of a youth from South Kashmir’s Pulwama District who has gone missing from October 3 has sought help of general public in tracing him. The missing youth identified as Showkat Yousuf Bhat S/o Muhammad Yousuf Bhat, a resident of Pulwama went missing from his home in Pulwama after which his family sought Police help to trace him. “He left home on September 3 and since then is untraceable,” said his family and appealed general public to inform them.
