Clashes Erupt in Pulwama, Militant Killed in Encounter Identified

Intense clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in main town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after a gunfight between militants and forces.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Freedom and Anti India slogans hit the streets and threw stones on Forces deployed in the area.

The clashes erupted after the news of a Militant killing in the exchange of gunfire between militants and Government forces at Renzipora area in Awantipora belt of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.

The Slain Militant has been identified as  Ishfaq Yousuf Wani son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani of Koil area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.

An official told The Kashmiriyat 55 RR was fired upon by Militants in the Renzipora area, after which the Army retaliated to the firing.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, one Militants was killed.

Meanwhile Internet Services have been snapped in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
