July 09

As temperatures in the Kashmir valley continues to soar, the calls for summer vacations seem to grow in the valley, with students from up North to down South demanding a summer vacation.

Students from various schools have appealed the authorities and Director School Education to declare summer vacations as the rising temperatures continue to drain the energy of students.

The weather trend in Kashmir for the next five days shows chances of rain, however the temperatures are not expected to drop to a great deal, and on the sunny days, the temperature is expected to rise.

The maximum temperature will rise to 32 degrees and the humidity was 57% according to a weather update website, the temperature is expected to be more or less the same.

While the school and college students, parents and teachers from Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu have been demanding summer vacations, the state government seems to be indecisive regarding the matter.

Muhammad Younis Malik Director school education Kashmir (DSEK) upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that the DESK is taking various things in consideration. “A decision would be made soon about the vacations.” he said.
