Briefing to the media the contractual teachers once again pleaded for justice by granting continuation and framing of policy on an analogy of 2006.

They said it is a provision in state and contractual  teachers were regularized in past so this time there is no excuse for government not to continue our services.

The teachers are on peaceful protest in Pratap Park Srinagar from last 47days.

“Till date the protesting teachers got many assurances from the Envoys of  Governor Administration but nothing comes in black and white from the Administration side,” a protesting teacher told The Kashmiriyat.

They alleged that teachers are ill treated and have been denied to install a canvas tent in the park which has added to their worries in the inclement weather.

According to the protesting teachers, 1200 teachers who were engaged by the government as contractual teachers have been sitting on a protest in this park from last 49 days to demand continuation of our services like it was done in 2006.

The teachers once again requested Governor S.P Malik to intervene into the matter.
