Dialgam Residents Block Roads, Demand Proper Electricity

December 24

Scores of residents of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) District on Monday assembled at Hakura and blocked Kokernag Vailoo Road.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that they raised slogans against the power development department and civil administration for frequent power curtailment in Hakura Koshipora Damhal and Palpora Villages.

The protesters alleged, “Our areas are facing step-motherly treatment. We have always paid our electricity bills on time, but nevertheless, frequent power cuts can be tough during chilly winter.”

They claimed, “Our Students are appearing in exams, how does the government expect them to study without electricity? They are suffering the most because of this mess.”

Pertinently, one day ago, the people of these areas had appealed the concerned authorities against the power development department for unscheduled power cuts and appealed them to resolve the problem.
