Encounter Rages in Sopore- Top Commander Reportedly Trapped

An encounter has raged  between militants and Government forces at Gund Brath area of Sopore area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla District.

An Official told The Kashmiriyat  that a team of 22 RR, Jammu Kashmir police and CRPF was fired upon by Militants in the Lassipora area on Wednesday morning, after which the Army retaliated to the firing.

The Forces retaliated and the exchange of fire triggered an encounter, Officials told The Kashmiriyat that two to three Militants including a top commander are believed to be trapped at the site of the encounter, while the firing at the encounter site is still going on.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a massive exchange of gunfire is going on at the site of the encounter.

Meanwhile Internet Services have been likely snapped in the Sopore area of North Kashmir. (The Kashmiriyat)
