Five Day Annual Urs of Resh Moul Ends Today

The annual five day long urs of prominent sufi saint, Baba Hyder Reshi also popularly known as Resh Moul will conclude on Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, prominent Sufi preachers and Dervishs including Haji Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah of Islamabad township, Peer Syed Mohammed Geelani of Zalangam in Kokernag Peer Nisar Ahmed Mubarki of Bonigund Qazigund and Peer Ghulam Qadir of Aishmuqam visited the shrine of the Sufi saint to pay their obeisance at the shrine.

People of the district as a mark of respect to the Sufi saint and to remember the services he rendered to the people give up eating non vegetarian food for a period of five days.

Thousands of Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs from all over the valley visited the shrine on all the five days and made prayers for peace in Jammu Kashmir and a dignity of human life, which they said has otherwise lost value in the valley especially.

Syed Mudasir Ahmed, a cleric from Ummat e Islami in his speech expressed grief over the growing drug menace in Kashmir and asked the youth to stay away from the drugs. Meanwhile a caretaker of the shrine said that from today afternoon,” People can start eating non vegetarian food.”
