Forces Launch CASO in Shopian Villages

Following specific inputs about Militant movement, The Government Forces on Wednesday launched Cordon and Search operation (CASO) in Danew and Turkwangam areas of South Kashmir’s  Shopian District.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that a search operation has been launched 44 Rastriya Rifles, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF in Turkwangam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District.

All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed on Saturday morning.

Another CASO has been launched by forces including 34 RR, Jammu Kashmir Police and 18 BN of CRPF in Handew area of Shopian District.

A door to door search operation has begun, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.

Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched as an Anti Militancy operation on May 2, 2017 amid a rise in the local recruitment into Militant groups in the Kashmir valley.

The Forces jointly conduct search operations in a specific area, locking down the area virtually and frisk houses on will.
