Forces Resort to Aerial Firing as Intense Clashes Erupt in Various Poll-Bound Areas

Intense clashes have erupted in various areas of South Kashmir on Monday as the two districts of Pulwama and Shopian are going to polls today in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls 2019.

Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that clashes have erupted in Wagad and Gulshanpora areas of Tral, Parigam area of Pulwama as hundreds of civilians took to streets, who were chased away by forces by using tear smoke shells against them.

In Wagad area of Tral, hundreds of youth shouting pro Independence and Anti India and Anti Election slogans tried to march towards a polling booth, raining stones upon the Troops deployed in the area in heavy numbers.

The troops fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesting youth, who regrouped in large numbers.

The forces also fired shot in the air to disperse the protesters.
