“Government Trying to Make Kashmir Poorer”- Traders Bodies in Gulmarg Stage Protest Against Gandola E-Ticketing

Thirteen traders Associations from Worlds famous Ski Resort Gulmarg in North Kashmir staged a massive protest in Tangmarg area of North Kashmir Baramulla district against e-Ticketing of Gulmarg Gondola.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the Protestors said that E-Ticketing is direct attack on our livelihood as we used to accompany tourists till Gondola and helping them in ticket booking earlier and we used to earn a little amount for our family and livelihood of our children.

Pertinently, earlier 30% of the tickets for Gulmarg Gandola (cable car) was done online, then the online ticketing was increased to 50 % and rest 50 % was done by the local shoppers, but now its totally online and this full online ticketing has been done as Kashmir heads towards the peak of tourist season.

The President of the Traders association told The Kashmiriyat that the Government is trying to snatch the livelihood of Kashmiris and make Kashmir poorer. “Why does the Government want to Snatch our Shelter?” he asked adding it was sheer injustice t the people earning their livelihood from the tourism industry in Gulmarg.
