Imran, Father of Four Children Lynched to Death in Bihar

Mohammed Ajjan Imran (32) was lynched to in the Gangti area of Nawada district in Bihar after he was thrashed by a mob. He succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

According to news reports, Imran was thrashed brutally by the mob after they accused him of stealing a battery from a tractor. Sudanpur, the native of Aijan is hardly two kilometers away from Gangti village.

Imran, who is the father of four children died as a result of his injuries while receiving treatment at a basic health care centre (PHC) in the area.

Jamil Akhtar, Imran’s father said that the event occurred between 1 and 2 a.m. on Thursday.

“He (Imran) had gone to ask for the wielding borrowed money,” Akthar claims. “They went to my son’s residence, accused him of assault theft, and severely beaten him. They also tried to mutilate him by hammering nails into his body,” Maktoob Media quoted his father.

He also refuted the accusation of theft and sought harsh punishment for the perpetrators.

At least ten persons were arrested from in Nawada district till Thursday, DSP Sanjay Prasad said to Maktoob. The questions of hate crime went unanswered.
