Income Tax Day Observed in Anantnag

The income Tax Department in Anantnag District of South Kashmir under the supervision of its District officer, Moin Sididiqui observed the Annual Income day here at their District office on KP Road.

Eminent personalities including the District Development Commissioner for this South Kashmir District, Kashmir Bar Association president and chairman of All Traders and Manufacturers Association graced the occasion, as per an official communique issued to The Kashmiriyat.

Speaking at the occasion, Moin Siddiqui emphasized on the need of paying timely taxes and offer a contribution in the welfare of the society. Thanking the tax Payers, Moin said, “The taxpayers have offered continued support in growth of the nation.” On the Income tax day, Let us all, renew our resolve to continue to work together to take this great nation forward, he said.

As per the press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, He also created awareness among the participants who raised various queries about taxes, the participants. Addressing the gathering, he said that all the people should pay their income tax right on time, because it is used for the progress of the society.

A painting competition was held under the theme ‘Clean and Prosperous India’- to create awareness about the need to keep one’s surroundings clean. The Officer also spoke on the need for cleanliness and prosperity.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and all field offices observed the 159th Income Tax Day  on 24th July, 2019. It was on 24th July, 1860 that Income Tax was introduced for the first time in India by Sir James Wilson.
