Braid Chopper Attacks Man in Islamabad

A 30 year old man of Nai Basti locality in Islamabad (Anantnag) District of Southern Kashmir on Saturday late evening was attacked by an alleged Braid Chopper.

The Person reportedly spotted a Braid chopper inside the house when he was washing his face in the washroom.

He tried to catch the braid chopper who sprayed a Toxic substance on his face after which he became unconscious.

The Braid chopper fled from the spot and the man was rushed to the District Hospital Islamabad (Anantnag) in an unconscious state.

Traders Thank Islamabad people for Shutdown, Ask people to Continue Shutdown tomorrow

The Traders Union of Islamabad (Anantnag) has thanked the people of Islamabad who observed a complete shutdown on Saturday.

The shutdown had been pertinently called by the Union to protest the highhandedness of Police on Friday.

A Few shopkeepers had been allegedly thrashed and arrested by the Police following protests post Friday prayers in the main town.

A Few shopkeepers in Jamia Masjid Locality at Reshi Bazar had also accused the Police of entering their shops and throwing their goods down on the road.

A Few people including a lady of Qazi Mohalla locality had been injured in the Police action.

The Traders Union also observed a Sit in to protest the highhandedness of Local Police official.

Meanwhile a member of Traders Union, Haji Sajjad Hakeem while speaking to ‘The Kashmiriyat’ said that, “Shutdown will continue tomorrow against the highhandedness of Local Police in the town. We request everyone including medical shops to observe shutdown tomorrow.”

He said that the union demands the transfer of the Police official who harassed shoppers in the main town locality of Reshi Bazar.

There were many incidents of Stone throwing in the town as hundreds of youth came out on the streets hurling stones on the Government forces.

Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir had also offered full support to the shutdown call.

Chief Justice Visits Islamabad (Anantnag)

Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed today visited court complexes of Principal and District Sessions Judge Islamabad  and Sub-Judge Bijbehara and Pahalgam to take stock of developmental works there and directed fast-tracking pending cases.

He was accompanied by Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad (Anantnag), Mohammad Younis Malik and SSP Islamabad (Anantnag), Altaf Ahmad Khan.

During the visit, the Chief Justice interacted with the lawyers who presented their demands including the upgradation of facilities for the litigants, filling up of vacancies of Munsifs, chambers for the lawyers and other relating issues.

“Ensuring fast-track disposal of court cases shall be our lasting contribution and every one of us needs to contribute in this regard,” he told the lawyers.

The Chief Justice said that technological interventions need to be introduced in all the courts and in this direction e-courts have been established for speedy disposal of the court cases. He said that Islamabad (Anantnag) will be the first district where the digitization of records shall be introduced which will be a step towards going paperless.

The Chief Justice expected the judges and lawyers to work in tandem for the expeditious disposal of court cases. He directed that cases pending over 10 years should be disposed off within a month followed by prioritizing the cases which are pending for over 5 years.

On the occasion, Justice Magrey said that "we are duty bound to provide timely deliverance of justice and to mitigate the miseries of litigants". He said that 24 munsifs which have been recently appointed shall be posted which will to a large extent help in clearing the pendency of the courts. He also called upon the presidents of Bar Associations to encourage more lady lawyers in the practice.

Later, the Chief Justice visited the Sarnal area where 56 Kanals of land have been identified for construction of new District Court Complex. He directed the DC to submit the revenue documents to the Principal and District Sessions Judge, Islamabad (Anantnag) so that DRP formulation and execution of work shall be taken up at an earliest.

On the occasion, Principal and District Sessions Judge, Syed Towkeer Ahmad, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mohammad Amin Mir, Additional District Judge, Masarat Jabeen, all Sub-Judges of subordinate courts, Presidents Bar Associations of Islamabad (Anantnag) and Bijbehara and lawyers fraternity were present.

Braid chopping attempt was foiled by Locals in Khan Mohalla, Achabal in Southern Kashmir.

The Locals of Khan Mohalla near police station, Achabal area in Southern Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) foiled the attempt after the braid Chopper (the local men) sprayed some liquid on a 28 year old women's name (with held) face when she was alone at apple orchard after which she however raised an alarm.

This prompted the braid chopper to run away.

The locals rushed immediately to the spot and the hair chopper fled away.

In another incident in Bellow Pulwama, the braid chopper managed to cut the braid of a lady (name with held).

The Lady fainted after some spray was used against her face after which her braid was chopped off.

The incident Sparked protests in the Locality.

Another Road Accident in Islamabad (Anantnag)

A lady was injured when a Hyundai Santro car bearing the registration number JK03B 2311 collided with i20 near Pehroo area in District Islamabad (Anantnag) on Saturday afternoon.

The Cars collided near the area and one lady (unidentified) was injured in the accident.

The Locals rushed to the spot and helped the injured lady and both the drivers to get out of their vehicles.

No Other injury has been reported from the incident, but both the cars suffered damage in the collision.

On Saturday Morning a passenger Tata Sumo bearing the registration number JK03C 3021 collided with another Sumo near the Wangaam Area of Kokernag in Southern Kashmir.

Four people sustained injuries in the accident that took place near Wangaam Ziyarat Sahreef in Wangaam Village in Islamabad (Anantnag) District,an eyewiness told The Kashmiriyat.

The Injured were rushed to the hospital where three of them were discharged and one is still undergoing treatment.

Stone Throwing Clashes Begin in Islamabad Town

Stone Pelting clashes began in Islamabad township on Saturday after scores of youth hurled stones on the Government forces deployed in the township.

The Clashes began today morning near Lal chowk when a group of youth raising pro freedom and Anti Police slogans .

However the troopers tried to chase them away, after which they started hurling stones on the forces.

A College going girl was also hit with a stone whose condition is stated to be normal now.

The town meanwhile is observing a complete shutdown against the alleged atrocities against civilians by the local Police.
