The paramilitary troopers launched a cordon and search operation in a village in Khrewan area of South Kashmir's Islamabad district on Tuesday.
 
Khrewan village that falls on Srinagar- Jammu National Highway was cordoned off by forces after inputs about the presence of militants. The National Highway has witnessed an increase in the militant attacks for the past few weeks.

'The youth started throwing stones on the troopers in KP Road area"

Clashes began around KP road area Tuesday morning when students flooded the streets shouting pro Freedom slogans. The youth later started pelting stones upon the paramilitary troopers, however the troopers used tear smoke shells to disperse the students. The students had been dispersed by the troopers when this report was filed.

Pertinently the educational institutes are reopening today after a gap of 5 days.

Stone Pelting clashes started in Khanabal area of Islamabad (Anantnag) when youth pelted stones upon vehicles of para military troopers. The troopers in response fired a few shots in the air to disperse the mobs.

Meanwhile a Complete shutdown in the area  to mark the death anniversary of Dr. Qazi Nisar.

Clashes began in Hillar area of Kokernag area in Southern Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Locals said a Center Reserve Police Force vehicle was attacked by civilians near Hillar area after which the troopers chased the civilians.

Arrests, Protests, Shutdown in Achabal

A complete shutdown is being observed in the town to protest the arrests.

Locals on Tuesday accused Police of harassing locals in the Achabal area of Islamabad (Anantnag). Locals said that Police early morning arrested a few young boys who were walking on the streets. The locals also accused the police of thrashing the arrested boys.

However, after the news of the arrests spread in the area locals came out on the streets shouting slogans against the Local Police, however the Paramilitary troopers deployed on the roads used force to disperse the protesters, after which the youth started throwing stones on the troopers.

 

Pertinently 6 cops were shot dead in the area on Friday by militants.

Cordon and Search operation was launched at C Corp Road in Bijbehara area of Islamabad (Anantnag) of Southern Kashmir. Locals said that the paramilitary troopers cordoned the area around 1200 noon, so the locals confined themselves to their houses and did not move out, however the troopers could not find anything in the locality.

Speaking to 'The Kashmiriyat' a Police official said the operation has already been called off.

Intense Clashes broke out in Dooru area of Islamabad (Anantnag) when dozens of youth appeared on the streets of the Shahabad area in Dooru shouting Pro Freedom and Pro Islam slogans.

The youth were seen shouting slogans in favour of Junaid Matoo, the slain LeT commander. 

Police used tear smoke shells to disperse the youth. The ding dong battles are still going on in the area, as per locals.
