Drug Peddler Arrested in Islamabad

Acting on a specific information, Islamabad (Anantnag) police laid a Nakka in the jurisdiction of Police Post Sangam.

During the naka checking, a Sumo bearing registration number JK15/3213 was intercepted.

On checking 2.5 kilograms of cannabis powder was recovered from one person identified as Nazir Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Raheem Shah resident of  Bagh Bandipora.

The vehicle was seized and the driver namely Mumtaz Ahmad Lone was also arrested along with the main accused on the spot.

FIR number 196/2017 under section  8/20 NDPS Act  was registered in this regard and further investigation was taken up.

Stone Pelting Clashes in Brakpora

Intense Clashes began in Brakpora area of Islamabad (Anantnag) District of South Kashmir on Monday afternoon after youth hurled stones on CRPF Vehicles.

“The CRPF Vehicles were stones when they passed through the area, the CRPF men came down from their vehicles and fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters,” Locals told The Kashmiriyat.

The CRPF resorted to immense shelling to disperse the youth, but the youth regrouped and continued hurling stones on the Government forces, sources said.

The Clashes were going when this report was filed.

Ground Report: Water-less Villages

Life cannot exist without water. It is fundamental duty of Government to provide drinking water to public without any discrimination.

Shaanpora-Chaklipora of Chitergul has more than hundred families having only three water supply taps & rest of the people use impure water for drinking which has caused many communicable diseases in the said area.

A "Great" campaign has been launched by the Government to construct SBM units in all rural areas to ensure proper sanitation system to make the environment disease free.

Rural Development Dept. has failed to provide SBM units to Shaanpora- Chaklipora to almost fifty poor families where people are still practicing traditional methods of defecation.

The locals told that the govt. has discriminated the hilly & rural areas of basic facilities & officials are not paying attention towards the development of rural areas.

Road Accident in Islamabad

On Friday afternoon a passenger Vehicle (Tavera) skidded off the road near Sagam Kokernag Area of Islamabad (Anantnag) in Southern Kashmir.

No injury or Casualty in the accident that took place an eyewitness told The Kashmiriyat.

Scores of Locals were seen helping the passengers come out of vehicles after the accident.

Attack on CRPF In Islamabad, Search Operation Begins

Suspected militants on Thursday morning attacked a vehicle of CRPF in lazibal area of Islamabad ( Anantnag) main town.

The militants opened heavy gunfire at the vehicle of CRPF as it was travelling through the area, locals told The Kashmiriyat.

As per initial reports, there have been no injuries.

However immediately after the attack, a search operation has been launched in the area.

Road Accident in Islamabad, 1 Dead

A 43 Year old died on the spot when he was riding a tractor in the Madifal village of Utersoo in Islamabad (Anantnag) in South Kashmir.

The Tractor fell down a gorge when he was riding it on a Kachha road in the area and he came under the tractor resulting in his on spot death.

He was identified as Nisar Ahmed Kanoo, a resident of Kreeri village in Utersoo in Islamabad (Anantnag) District.

A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched jointly by 19 RR of Indian Army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police, 163bn of CRPF, Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in Mehmoodabad Dooru of Islamabad (Anantnag) in South Kashmir.

The Operation was launched in the evening in the locality and all the entry and exit points into the village were sealed.

The Forces have begun a massive search operation, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.

The Operation was going on when this report was filed.

A famous tourist resort at Chhatabal- Chitergul of Islamabad (Anantnag) district is a beautiful & charming place & is famous for its rills, forests, fresh air & peace.

The Concerned dept. has undertaken the construction of buildings & road in the said area to improve its charm but unfortunately the Department has decorated the road with black top in extremely low temperature in the last week of October 2017.

The locals told The Kashmiriyat that the officials are not utilizing the funds as per the technical norm & results in the deterioration of work before its expiry date.

They also told that black top of the said road will not prove successful & is wastage of money by the concerned dept. Government agencies must take notice of the said work & must refrain the dept. from further work on the project in extremely low temperature.
