A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched by Government forces in Keegam area of South Kashmir's Shopian District on Wednesday.
The operation was launched by the forces after militant movement was detected in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.
The 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of Indian Army, CRPF and SOG of Jammu Kashmir have launched a massive manhunt to find the militants.
Meanwhile a door to door search operation has been launched in the area where militants are believed to have taken refugee, sources said.
The entry and exit points to and from keegam have been sealed by the Government forces and they are keeping a tight vigil to ensure that nobody escapes the village.

Intense Clashes erupted between government forces and protesters during CASO in Heff village of South Kashmirs Shopian district.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that soon after cordon was launched youth took to streets and started pelting stones on government forces who retaliated with tear gas shelling triggering clashes.
Earlier CASO was launched in the area by government forces after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
The Youth played tranas on Loud speakers of Mosques and made announcement asking others to join the protesting youth, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.
Clashes were going on going on when last reports came in.

The Government Forces on Tuesday launched a massive cordon and Search Operation in Heff Shermal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District.
Operation has been launched by RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF after militant movement was detected in the area.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that troopers have launched a massive search operation in the area locking all the entry and exit points in the locality which is home of militant commander, Saddam Padder.

Life today returned to normal after remaining crippled for Five days in south Kashmir's Shopian district, where people observed complete shutdown against the arrest of two youths on February 07 Midnight.
Business and other activities resumed today and traffic was plying on all routes normally today.
Work in government offices and banks was normal.
Two youths from Bona Bazar area of the district were arrested on 7 Feb during a night raid.
Mobile internet services were also restored in the twin districts of south Kashmir; Shopian and pulwama today.
The services had snapped for two days when teenager girl saima jan succumbed to her injuries.

Suspected Militants fired on 44RR army camp chilipora area of Shopian district in South Kashmir on Sunday evening.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that after the attack Militants escaped from the spot.
Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Thousands of people gathered early morning on Sunday in Shopian of South Kashmir to bid farewell to Saima aged 20 who succumbed on Saturday evening.
She was injured during a gunfight between militants and government forces on January 24 in Chaigund hamlet of the district.
With her death, the number of civilians killed in Shopian since January 25 has reached six.
Pro Freedom slogans and ‘taranas’ reverberated in the entire area over public address systems during the funeral of the slain.
Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that thousands of people started rushing to Chaigund area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District from Islamabad (Anantnag) and all the other three districts of South Kashmir.
Multiple rounds of funeral prayers were held for her and she was laid to rest with moist eyes.
Saima was the sister of the slain Militant, Sameer Wani who was killed in the gun battle with forces.
Meanwhile a shutdown is being observed in Pulwama and Shopian districts against her killing without any strike call from any group.
Mobile Internet service has also been suspended in both the districts.

A teenage girl Saima Wani who was injured in an encounter on January 24 last month in Shopian village has succumbed to injuries on Saturday evening.
The injured were taken to SMHS Hospital, from where they were shifted to Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar for specialized treatment.
During indiscriminate firing, a civilian, Shakir Ahmad Mir, a resident of Kalampora Pulwama, was killed, and two women received bullet injuries.
On January 24, two militants and a civilian were killed in the gunfight in Chaigund village.
Two girls, including Saima Wani were injured during the gunfight.
Pertinently Saima Wani was the sister of the deceased militant Sameer Ahmad Wani were injured at Chaigund, Audoo area of Keegam Shopian
Meanwhile Mobile Internet Services have been suspended in South Kashmir districts of Shopian and Pulwama.

A National Lok Adalat was held at district court complex here under the supervision of Chairman District Legal Service Authority Shopian, Ashok Kumar Shavan.
During the proceedings, 8 benches were constituted for taking up cases of matrimonial disputes, land acquisition, criminal compoundable, bank recovery, and other civil disputes.
A total of 141 cases were taken up out of which 113 cases have been settled by reconciliation and mediation. Besides 144 pre-litigation cases were also taken up for settled.
However, An amount of Rs 45000 was imposed as fine and same has been deposited in the govt treasury and an amount of 2915552 was recovered as bank robbery from defaulters.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District and session judge Shopian,chief medical officer shopian staff members, Officers of district administration and other prominent citizens attended the Lok Adalat.
