Despite Encounters Another Youth From Shopian Main Town has joined Militants Ranks, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

The Youth has been identified as Khalid Farooq Malik son of Farooq Ah Malik who is a resident of Aliyal Pora in South Kashmir's Shopian District.

The Pictures Of Said Youth have been doing rounds on Different Social Networking Sites.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that The Youth has been Missing for at least a week now.

Officials while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that they are checking the authenticity of the photo.

"We do not have any information as of yet, "a Police official said.

Reports suggest that 20 youth may have taken up arms post the Shopian Encounters on April 1.

unidentified Gunmen on Sunday evening shot at a youth in Pinjura area of South Kashmir's Shopian District.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that A youth namely Kifayat Ahmed, a resident of Mool Dangerpora was shot at this evening by Gunmen.

The yoith has been shifted to Bone and Joint hospital in srinagar.

A New Photo of Militants has gone viral over the social networking sites including Facebook.

In the Photograph Eight prominent Militants can be seen posing with their Guns.

Known Militants like Saddam Paddar, Riyaz Naikoo, Ashraf Khan can be seen in the photograph.

Manan Wani (a PhD Scholar) who recently joined militant ranks can also been seen carrying a Gun.

The Photograph is doing rounds over Social networking.

Youth from Kashmir are joining Militancy as it has been glorified over internet, Government Agencies have repeatedly said.


"Nobody Offered us Money, Please Stop Rumours," Kachdoora family

Dismissing the rumour on Social Media spread by some individuals that the father of a slain militant, Atimaad had donated money for Kachdoora family in whose house the encounter was held, the family has said that they have not even met the father of Atimaad yet.

“The Locals of our area have taken up the responsibility of our family and we don’t need any kind of help from anyone else,” a family member said.

He also said that the villagers have been kind and providing them shelter since the very first day of encounter.

The family of 13 asked people to not spread any rumours on Social media or defame them.

“I request everyone to not spread any messages on facebook,” he requested while speaking to The Kashmiriyat over phone.

The residents of the area told that they have collected money and people on voluntary basis have been donating amount, but nobody speaks of how much they have donated.

The Locals also said that they have taken up the initiative of building the destroyed house.

Pertinently 5 Militants were killed in n encounter last Sunday in kachdoora encounter in Shopian and the house was raised to ground.

Despite Growing Encounters Youth Continue to Join Militancy

A New Youth named Tariq Ali Sheikh, resident of Mool Chitragam area in Shopian area of South Kashmir has likely joined Militants.

The youth has released a photo over Social Networking which has been doing round with him carrying an AK 47 Assault rifle.

Tariq Ali is 23 years old and is a son to Mohammed Shameem Sheikh, a known Commander of Hizb from Mool Chitragam Area.

Mohammed Shameem had been killed in an encounter with Government Forces along with four associates on 14 January 1994, a family member of Tariq told The Kashmiriyat.

Tariq was in womb when his father was killed but he since his childhood was inclined to Islam.

He pursued Islamic Education from a seminary in Central Kashmir and also pursued Hifz and Molvi Aalim.

“He was picked up by Forces in 2016 uprising and detained for nearly four months,” a family member told The Kashmiriyat.

After he started working as an Imam in a Mosque in Tangmarg, but he was again picked up by the Army and tortured in custody, the family member said.

“On 30th March he was in the seminary, we called him up and asked him to accompany his step father to the hospital as he was unwell,” said the family member.

Tariq told us that he would come to the hospital, but after that we were unable to establish any contact with him, his family member told The Kashmiriyat.

‘We have filed a missing report in the Police station Zainapora on April 2.

A Police Official posted in Zainapora Shopian confirmed the missing report and said Police is investigating the matter.

Tariq is survived by his mother and a brother.

The Indian State has intensified Anti Militancy Operations in Jammu Kashmir, but what needs to be thought is if it is making any impact on the ground.

Day 10: Mourning, Shutdown Continues in Shopian and Pulwama Parts

A Complete shutdown is being observed in Shopian district of South Kashmir against the killing spree in Kashmir.

Shops, Business Establishments, Educational Institutes are shut while vehicular movement is very thin on the roads, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.

16 people were killed in the district during two separate encounters in Kachdoora and Dragad, Sugan on last Sunday.

Since then the area has been observing a complete shutdown with hundreds of people still visiting the houses of Slain Militants.

In nearby Pulwama District, a complete shutdown is being observed in many area including the main town of Pulwama.

The areas are also observing a shutdown for the tenth consecutive day while Mobile internet services have been restored in both district after a temporary ban.

CASO Launched in Shopian's Keller Area

The Government Forces have launched yet another Cordon and Search Operation in Check Mohallah of Keller area in South Kashmir's Shopian District on Monday.

Officials sources confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that 44 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police launched the Anti Militancy Operation after receiving specific inputs about the presence of Militants in the area.

A door to Door search operation has been initiated in the area as all the entry and exit points have been sealed.

Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir leads protest against killing spree

The Chairman of Ummat e Islami, Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed Yasir today lead a huge protest rally in Southern Kashmir's Shopian town against the ongoing killing spree. The rally taken out from Jamia Masjid of Shopian was joined by hundreds of people who shouted Pro Islam and Pro Freedom Slogans.

Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed Yasir denouncing the killing spree said, that Indian state has declared a war against every Kashmiri. Mirwaiz Yasir while addressing the rally said non combatants and combatants are meeting the same fate which is a clear indication of the fact that the Indian state has terribly failed to study the public pulse in Kashmir. Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir also denounced the ongoing killing spree and said such killings will lead to a drastic reaction and is doing so. "The India state needs to understand that the policy of iron fist will not bring peace, it will only lead to bloodshed." Mirwaiz Yasir said by maintaining the policy of bullets, it seems India is not craving for peace, but more blood.

Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed Yasir while paying rich tribute to Dr. Qazi Nisar on his martyrdom anniversary said "the best tribute to pay to any martyr is to work for their cause." He reiterated the call for 19th June and appealed the people of South Kashmir to observe a complete shutdown on the day to pay tributes to the martyrs of Kashmir.

Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir while addressing the demonstrators said, "The rally had been actually called to demand the release of pro Freedom prisoners" however, he said "Kashmir has been turned into a war zone and one can never be sure what happens the next moment." Mirwaiz Yasir said it is a duty of every kashmiri to remember the prisoners and their families on Eid. Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir demanded the immediate release of Prisoners.

He also visited Heff Shermal in Shopian to pay tributes to slain LeT commander, Nasir Ahmed who was martyred in an encounter with army on Friday. He offered Fateh Khwani to Nasir after visiting his grave.

Pertinently Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir is evading arrest since the last week.
