Two Militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter at Barbugh area of Shopian in the ongoing encounter in the Southern Kashmir area.
The Militants had attacked a Party of Special Operations Group of Jammu Kashmir Police, Sources told 'The Kashmiriyat.'
The area was cordoned off immediately after which militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
The Firefight is still going on in the area and more militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
Initial Reports suggest that Tariq Resident of Awnair of Shopian and Altaf Resident of Shopian have been killed.
Both the Militants recently surfaced on a video sacrificing sheep on Eid over social Networking Sites.

Bullet sounds echoed in the Imam Sahab locality of Southern Kashmir's Imam Sahab area in Shopian District.
The Locals of Imam Sahab area in Shopian told The Kashmiriyat that firing shots are being heard in the area from a past few minutes.
A Party of Special Operations Group of Jammu Kashmir Police came under attack of suspected militants in Barbugh area of Imam Sahab, Sources told 'The Kashmiriyat.'
More troopers were immediately rushed to the spot.

On Friday, The Government forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Mememdar Shopian in Southern Kashmir.
The CASO was launched by forces following a tip off about the presence of militants in the area.
Scores of troopers have cordoned the area and conducting search operation in the area.
The Operation was going on when this report was filed.

The Fourth Major Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) that had been laid in Shopian District has ended just now on Tuesday.
The villages Nagbal, Hussanpora, Urpora and Homehuna areas had been cordoned off by the Special Operation Group of Police, 44 RR of Indian Army early morning.
The operation was launched following a specific input about the presence of militants in the area.
The operation has been called off after nothing was found in the areas.
Pertinently, this is the 4th Major unsuccessful CASO launched in Shopian district.

The Fourth Major Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) has been laid in Shopian District on Tuesday.
The villages Nagbal, Hussanpora, Urpora and Homehuna areas have been cordoned off by the Special Operation Group of Police, 44 RR of Indian Army.
The troopers reached the villages early morning and started the operation in the area, they have sealed all the entry and exit points to the villages, Sources told 'The Kashmiriyat.'
Meanwhile Sources said that the operation was launched following a specific input about the presence of militants in the area.
The operation was going on when this report was filed.
Pertinently, 3 Major unsuccessful CASOs have been launched in Shopian district prior to this.

To curb black marketing and profiteering of essential commodities, a team of officials headed by Tehsildar Imamsahib Niyaz Ahmad Bhat conducted market checking in Imamsahib area of Shopain district here today.
The team destroyed outdated food items, polythene, Expired Juice and fruits and realized a fine of Rs. 1500/- from the erring traders Action as per Law has been taken against those shopkeepers who resort to hoarding and other malpractices and action has been also taken against some drivers of passenger and private vehicles for violating traffic norms like wrong parking, Rush Driving.
Meanwhile Tehsildar Imansahib Niyaz Ahmad Bhat told 'The Kashmiriyat' that this drive will continue after Eid in order to give neat and clean and jam Free market to public.
“All shopkeepers have been directed to follow market rules strictly and I request general public to make complaint in case of any violation by shopkeepers," he added.
