Intense Protests Erupt as Pregnant Lady Dies Due to Absence of Doctors at Islamabad (anantnag) Hospital

Intense protests erupted in Maternity and Child care hospital (MCH) Sherbagh in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) township on Wednesday after a lady allegedly died due to medical negligence in the hospital.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the family members of Shubi Jan said that Shubi was witnessing labour pain when she was admitted at MCH on Tuesday (June 25), however during the night the pain increased but no doctor was available to check the patient.

The family alleged that they pleaded to the staff to avail a doctor for hours together, however nobody visited them till 4:30 am on Wednesday (june 26), when Shubi Jan, a resident of Chee area in Islamabad (anantnag) passed away due to intense pain.

The family later went to the office of the Medical superintendent and complained of medical negligence, however some of unknown persons angry with the death of the 30 year old lady barged into the office and smashed items worth lakhs inside the office.

Mohammed Yousuf Zagoo speaking to The Kashmiriyat that the matter is being investigating the matter. He said that Dr Akeela and Dr Masarat, (gynecologists) besides Dr Anzil (Anesthesia) will lead the team that will investigate the matter.

Meanwhile a Police official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that Police has taken cognizance of the matter and has launched an investigation in the matter.
