Kashmir- Father Goes to Buy Milk for 3 Month Old Daughter, Returns Dead

The body of civilian identified as Abid Hussain Lone of Karimabad area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama who was hit with a bullet near the Encounter site in Sirnoo Pulwama has reached home just now.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of people including women have reached the home of the slain youth who was twenty five years old and had studied Management from Indonesia and later got married there.

He is married to an Indonesian girl and has a daughter who is three months old, a Local of Karimabad Pulwama told The Kashmiriyat.

“He Left home early morning to get milk for his daughter and as soon as he came out, we heard intense firing nearby, they went further ahead to inquire what has happened,” a local said.

They were on the way to check what had happened, when the forces opened fire upon protesters, he could not run and was shot with a bullet in his chest, he said.

“People tried to take him to the nearby Pulwama District hospital, but he succumbed on the way to the hospital, he told The Kashmiriyat.

Karimabad is at a distance of not more than one and a half kilometer away from Sirnoo where an encounter had raged between Forces and Militants early morning on Saturday.

Three Militants were killed in the ensuing gunfight, two civilians were also shot dead when forces opened fire upon unarmed protesters near the Encounter site.

As his body reached home, the neighbours including men burst into wailing and mourning and hundreds of people have gathered in the area to attend the funeral of the slain civilian, Abid Hussain Lone.

Abid is survived by his mother, a brother who is pursuing MBA in Bangalore, a wife and a three month old child. (The Kashmiriyat)
