TO Escape Police Torture, Kulgam Youth Goes Missing- Family Appeals him to Return

To evade police arrest, a youth from Pooniwah area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District has went missing from his home since Friday morning.

Identified as Irfan Ahmed Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmed Bhat in apprehension of Police arresting him left home on early hours of Friday morning after which he disappeared, the family has been looking for him since.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Manzoor Ahmed Bhat appealed the general Public to help the family in locating their 26 year old son, Irfan. “The Police raided his house looking for him a couple of times, however he escaped the arrest both the times,” one of his neighbour told The Kashmiriyat.

On Friday morning, he left home after which his parents tried to call him several times, but his phone was switched off. “I ask my son to come back home,” Manzoor Ahmed appealed with tearful eyes.

The family has filed a missing report at the Police station Kulgam, which was confirmed to The Kashmiriyat by a Police official.

Most of the Militants since 2010 in apprehension of Police torture and arrests have joined Militant outfits, the rate has increased manifold since 2016 after the killing of Burhan Wani on Juy 08.
