Militant Killed, Mobile Internet Snapped inn Shopian

One Militant has been killed in an encounter with Government Forces in Narwan area of Imam Sahib in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched a search operation in the Narwan area of Imam Sahib, during which Militants opened fire on the party of Government Forces, triggering an encounter.

During this exchange of gunfire, one Militant was killed, the identity of whom has not been verified as of yet.

“The identity of the slain militant is being ascertained. Firing exchanges have stopped but search operations are going on,” police said.

Police also claimed that collateral damage was minimized during the encounter, after which bodies of one Slain Militant was recovered, The Police have also asked people to stay away from the site of the encounter.

Mobile internet, meanwhile has been suspended in the Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian Districts of South Kashmir.
