Militants Killed in Tral had all Joined Militancy After May 2018

Three Militants killed in the Tral encounter have been identified as locals who were affiliated with the Militant outfit, Hizb ul Mujahideen and Jaish e Muhammad.

The Jammu Kashmir Police said that Based on a credible input about the presence of Militants in higher reaches of Tral in Awantipora, a cordon and search operation was launched today morning jointly by Police and security forces in the area.

As the searches were going on, the search party was fired upon by the militants. The fire was retaliated leading to a gunfight.

Zubair Ahmed Bhat (Jaish e Muhammad) and Tawseef Ahmed (Hizb ul Mujahideen) were from Chursoo in Awantipora while Shakoor Ahmad Parray @Jaffar son of Ghulam Nabi Parray resident of Laribal Tral was from Gulshanpora in Tral, all of them had joined Militancy this year.

Zubair Ahmad Bhat Son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat a resident of Charsoo Awantipora area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District joined Militancy on July 13.

Locals from Charsoo told The Kashmiriyat that Zubair had left home for prayers almost one week before July 13 when his photo appeared on the social networking with him announcing his entry into the militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.

Tawseef Ahmed thokar, a scholar turned Militant from Chursoo area of Awantipora in South Kashmir.

Tawseef who was an MSc in Mathematics has joined Militant outfit Hizb ul Mujahideen on 14 May 2018, he had also done the B.ed Degree from Veta College in Awantipora.

All the three killed militants were wanted by law for their complicity in a series of crimes including attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities. It was a combined group of JeM and HM and as per police records Zubair was affiliated with JeM while Shakoor and Tawseef were affiliated with HM., the Jammu Kashmir Police claimed.
