Militants Likely Escape After a Brief Exchange of Fire in Tral Forests- Search Continues

At least three Militants on Tuesday managed to escape during a cordon and Search operation launched in the Aripal area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 42 RR of Indian Army, 180 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the forest of Aripal area following an input about Militant movement in the area.

During the cordon, the holed up Militants opened fire upon forces, triggering an exchange of gunfire.

After, the initial contact, however, no contact has been established as of yet, an Official said.

Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that no firing has been heard from the past 45 minutes, and it is likely that the Militants have escaped from the spot.

However, the search operation is still on.
